The Together Academy is an innovative social enterprise based in
Dublin (www.togetheracademy.ie ). It
commenced in * as a project of its parent
organisation, the Down Syndrome Centre, with a mission to transform
the employment prospects of young adults with Down syndrome in
Ireland. The Together Academy provides specialised and certified
training, on the job experience, work placements and a critical social
and support network. It firmly believes that through tailored
education and supported employment, all young adults with Down
syndrome can have the opportunity to work in a meaningful job and have
a purposeful day.

LEAD VOCATIONAL TRAINER
The Lead Vocational Trainer will be responsible for devising an
innovative and engaging employability training programme for Together
Academy. Working closely with the Pathways to Employment team, the
candidate will identify key skill gaps for Together Academy students
impeding their path to employment while developing and subsequently
delivering a curriculum to address these gaps.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
* Drive the design, development and promotion of an innovative and
customised employability programme
* Assist with the development, review, evaluation and the overall
management of course tutors and the programme in consultation with
students, Together Academy staff and other stakeholders
* Manage the recruitment, assessment and registration of
participants for the programme
* Manage the delivery of the programme including; curriculum
development, administration of certification procedures where
applicable, networking with other co-ordinators and centres, and
organisation of guidance and support for learners
* Management of the procurement of supplies and services required
for the day to day running of the programme.
* Collaboration with the wider Together Academy team on an ongoing
basis drawing in expertise as required to support student needs
* Contribution to Personal Development Plans of students.
The candidate will have a relevant recognised third level academic
qualification, or equivalent, coupled with previous experience working
with learners who have a disability.
